Biography
Margarita Dudčaka is a singer and choir conductor from Latvia, currently living in the Netherlands.
Latvia known as a singing nation is a place where Margarita has been active in choirs and ensembles as a conductor and singer.
Her repertoire spans many different genres ranging from Baroque to contemporary music. In the stylistics of the music repertoire, the diversity and knowledge of performance techniques have allowed her to take part in various interdisciplinary art projects. In addition to her work as a singer and conductor, her passion is working with children. She has received this fulfilment by working with children at a music school as a vocal coach.
Continuous development and education are her driving forces, this is the reason that made her turn to solo singing. Since September 2020, Margarita has been studying at the Conservatorium Maastricht and gaining in-depth knowledge in the vocal department with teachers Frans Kokkelmans and Yvonne Schiffelers.
Focusing on the solo genre led her to take part in Opera Zuid's production of Benjamin Britten's “Midsummer night's dream” as a fairy Peaseblossom. After the premiere of the opera on the 22nd of May at Park theater Eindhoven will follow several performances at different theaters in the Netherlands.

Since graduating her Master's studies in choir conducting at Jāzeps Vītols Latvian Academy of Music in 2014, Margarita has been working with various choirs including Riga Secondary School No 49 Boys' Choir with them achieving 1st place in the XI Latvian School Youth Song and Dance Festival Choir Competition in 2015 and Award of the year in nomination forAchievements in Interest Education 2015. With mixed choir PaSaulei in addition to active concert life in Latvia and Europe, the choir has won many awards in various international choir competitions, such as Grand Prix in the 7th International Robert Schumann Chorwettbewerb & Festival in 2014; 1st place in the Folk category and 2nd in Classical category at Busan Choral Competition in South Korea 2018. In September 2022, in duo with organist Jeroen Pijpersat won 2nd prize the 6. Internationaler Orgel-Gesangs-Wettbewerb in Neuss (DE).
